I am pleased to let you know that during half term from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November 2024 from 14.30-16.30 we will be holding a magical dance workshop at Devon Dance Centre, for students aged 7 years upwards.

Students will have the chance not only to dance but also to meet Bethany Kingsley Garner, former principal ballerina with Scottish Ballet and Susan Lucas, Former principal ballerina with Birmingham Royal Ballet and have the opportunity to watch them coaching classical repertoire and pointe work from famous classical ballets.

Bethany was born in Devon, and taught by Monica Furneux before attending the Royal Ballet School at the age of eleven. She spent 17 years at Scottish Ballet before retiring this February to become a Dance Lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a guest dance teacher at many schools across the country and internationally.

Susan was born in Surrey and was offered a Scholarship to the Royal Ballet School at the age of sixteen, before joining the Sadler’s Wells Ballet Company (now the Birmingham Royal Ballet). After working her way up to Principal, she stayed with the company for 21 years. After retiring, Susan became a freelance teacher, teaching at Elmhurst Ballet School, the Vacani School and holding her own workshops.
